Description : The Port of Fujairah is situated on the E coast of the United Arab Emirates.General overview: The port offers facilities for general cargo and container vessels. It is one of the main ports in the area serving India, East Africa and the Gulf. Fujairah is also an important Bunkering Port where the Bunker Barges load from big storage tankers and supply bunkers to passing vessels at Anchorage. Often the most competitive Bunker Rates in the Arabian Gulf are at Fujairah.
ARRIVAL INFORMATION
ETA's : Notify control tower, agent and Harbour Master of ETA as soon as possible, message to include vessel details, cargo, flag and draft.
Ship to ship (STS): Notice of arrival: Ships should advise their ETA at Fujairah at least 72 hours prior to arrival giving ship's particulars and details of cargo operations, when in range they must contact Fujairah Port Control, via VHF ch 16. The local agent of the vessel should re-confirm 24 hours prior to arrival and confirm that all certificates specified in clause 5 will be available for inspection and are valid. Agents will liaise with the port of Fujairah to arrange permission for STS operations to proceed.
NAVIGATION
Anchorages : Vessels anchoring in Fujairah waters must have approved UAE Agent and report to Fujairah Port Control on VHF ch 16.
Navigation aids : A light is exhibited on high ground 0.5nm W of the harbour area.
Tugs: There are 4 tugs available.
Restrictions : Pilotage Compulsory for all vessels within the port, except those vessels whose Masters hold exemption certificate.
Max size: Max. Draft 12.5m., Max. LOA 280m.
BERTHING
General cargo/Bulk berths : All main quay berths are of concrete block construction with interlock block work surfacing. Fendering is of high impact toughened rubber. The total quay length is 1,070m and berths are numbered 1-4 from S to N and all are served by four rail run gantry cranes. Berths No 1 and 2 have a direct pipe line to EGPC tank farm for gas oil supply or discharge.
Container berths : Total berth area of 170,000m2 with a continuous quay length of 800m. Depths 11m and 12m.
Ro-Ro berths : Berth No 1 for vessels length 120.0m, width 7.0m; Berth No 2, length 100.0m, width 5.0m.
Facilities : Cranage: There are 2 x 40t IHI quay gantries with 34.5m outreach, 4 x 41t IHI with 39.5m outreach. Eleven Rubber tyred gantries. 2 x 24t mobile Jones cranes. Six 40t top load fork lifts.
Storage : There is 140,000m2 paved storage area; container storage 19,500 TEUs; one 2,500m2 transit shed; no cold stores.
Fresh Water : Available.
Bunkers : Available.
